Sorcery in the Apocrypha

Many argue that the Apocrypha (accepted text by the Catholic Church and various religious organizations) is believed to be inspired writings and missing books of the bible. However, upon evaluation of these supposed lost books, you will see that the Apocrypha is a book of necromancy, divination, witchcraft and sorcery. They COMPLETELY contradict the Word of the Bible and is a plant by the enemy himself to distort the truth.

The Catholic Church canonized the Apocrypha as part of THEIR bible (although this has never been accepted by Jews nor Protestants) in 325 A.D. at the Council of Nicaea. During this time, the pagan practice of Easter was agreed upon. This council was created by Constantine the Great, Emperor of Rome, four years after pronouncing SUNday for worship of the SUN god ("Sol Invictus" yes, this is ALL paganism). If the Apocrypha is inspired by the Holy Spirit as the bible is, then it should not have any errors.  But since it does have errors, as you will see below, then you will know without a doubt, that it is a LIE.

The Apocrypha is made up of the following books:
1 Esdras 2 Esdras Additions to Esther 1 Macabees 2 Macabees Tobias Judith Wisdom Sirach Baruch Epistle of Jeremiah Susanna Prayer of Azariah Prayer of Manasseh Bel and the Dragon Laodiceans

Problems in the Apocrypha

When we look into the apocrypha itself, we find numerous problems.  For example, we see it advocating magic where the smoke of a fish heart on a fire drives away devils.

Condones the use of magic

Tobit 6:5-7, "Then the angel said to him: Take out the entrails of this fish, and lay up his heart, and his gall, and his liver for thee: for these are necessary for useful medicines. 6 And when he had done so, he roasted the flesh thereof, and they took it with them in the way: the rest they salted as much as might serve them, till they came to Rages the city of the Medes. 7 Then Tobias asked the angel, and said to him: I beseech thee, brother Azarias, tell me what remedies are these things good for, which thou hast bid me keep of the fish? 8 And the angel, answering, said to him: If thou put a little piece of its heart upon coals, the smoke thereof driveth away all kind of devils, either from man or from woman, so that they come no more to them."
Is it true that the smoke from a fish's heart, when burned, drives away evil spirits?  Of course not.  Such a superstitious teaching has no place in the word of God.

Teaches that forgiveness of sins is by human effort.

Salvation by works:
  • Tobit 4:11, "For alms deliver from all sin, and from death, and will not suffer the soul to go into darkness."
  • Tobit 12:9, "For alms delivereth from death, and the same is that which purgeth away sins, and maketh to find mercy and life everlasting."
We know from Scripture that alms (money or food, given to the poor or needy as charity) does not purge our sins.  The blood of Christ is what cleanses us, not money or food given to poor people.  "but if we walk in the light as He Himself is in the light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus His Son cleanses us from all sin," (1 John 1:7).
Money as an offering for the sins of the dead:
2 Maccabbees 12:43, "And making a gathering, he sent twelve thousand drachms of silver to Jerusalem for sacrifice to be offered for the sins of the dead, thinking well and religiously concerning the resurrection."
Can anyone truly accept that money isn't offering for the sins of dead people?  Such a superstitious and unbiblical concept has no place in Scripture.

Historical Errors

Wrong historical facts:
  • Judith 1:5, "Now in the twelfth year of his reign, Nabuchodonosor, king of the Assyrians, who reigned in Ninive the great city, fought against Arphaxad and overcame him."
  • Baruch 6:2, "And when you are come into Babylon, you shall be there many years, and for a long time, even to seven generations: and after that I will bring you away from thence with peace."
The book of Judith incorrectly says that Nebuchadnezzar was the king of the Assyrians when he was the king of the Babylonians.1
Baruch 6:2 says the Jews would serve in Babylon for seven generations where Jer. 25:11 says it was for 70 years.  "And this whole land shall be a desolation and a horror, and these nations shall serve the king of Babylon seventy years."

Conclusion

Obviously the apocrypha has serious problems.  From magic, to salvation by works, to money as an offering for the sins of the dead, and blatant incorrect historical facts, it is full of false and unbiblical teachings.  It isn't inspired of God.  Likewise, neither is the Roman Catholic Church, which has stated the Apocrypha is inspired.  This shows the Roman Catholic Church is not the means by which God is communicating his truth to his people, and that it is infested with man's false tradition, rather than God's absolute truth.

  1. Hmmm...and by what authority do you assert that scripture is right or wrong?

    2. They break Cannon. They break the consistency of God's Word, and his "Ways". Magic via Sorcery is very forbidden and for good cause. We as human vessels do not have the ability or authority to work "magic". The Holy Spirit releases the "Gifts" but for a specific reason. When reading the bible now all the books are in alignment and agree on dates and prophecy. The Apocrypha are good to read I spose but they break so many of God's characteristics. It's absurd the God would give an angel authority to use magic or entrails when through out the Law it's clearly state NO.

    3. whose canon? protestants use the jews post Church canon of jamnia. All the early Church pre-Nicea basically used the Septuagint that had all or most of these books.

and why is burning an animal magic?

      where demons invoked? circles drawn?

You protestants are ahistorical. you exist in a post calvinist/luther and not rarely fundamentalist bubble with no sense of any culture but " 'murica."

this hit piece on the apocrypha is a great case in point.

    4. If you want to see Magic in the Bible look no further than the YHVH blood magic used to manage the jews sins, without any pretext of salvation. Other than it being YHVH's command, feel free to try and explain away the temple cultus as ANYTHING but blood magic exactly as you would find in paganism.

    5. To those who question re whether the statements in the Apocrypha are true or not true, please compare what the Apocrypha teaches with what God's Word teaches. God's Word teaches the truth and if information is taught that contradicts what is in God's Word, then it is false information.

  3. We can never expect any good, holiness, justice or love from people who are prejudiced, malicious and who who cannot accept truth as it is. Most of the protestant churches' main mission is to annihilate Christianity and pave way for Islam or satanism.

    1. That is absurd. ALL Prophecy states that the hour will become so dark a mere 10% of those professing Christ will be "Doing the Will of God" in this hour. The Catholic church is responsible for adding tons of wrong doctrine along with the apocrypha. The TRUTH is not subjective but absolute. The protestant church has no desire to destroy God's church. All are just blind in this hour.

  5. You people need to read the Old Testament. Like actually study it. In Genesis it speaks on the “watchers”. How the same angels God sent on the earth to watch over humankind fell in love with our women and listed after them. That’s how nephilim or giants were born. It’s also why the flood had to come to pass. There is also the fact of the Jezebelle spirit which is mother of harlots and mystery. Mystery being magic which were secrets taught by these “watchers”. God has used angels countless times to do works upon this land and the apocrypha are Old Testament books so understand these are times before Christ. Because you do not understand this you sound hypocritical. In this instance I can easily then say our fathers have been doing witchcraft and promote it because they sacrificed animals into The Lord or when Moses fashioned the brass serpent it was witchcraft or when the Philistines sent them gold in the covenant to appease The Lord Almighty of Israel and be cleansed from their curses. That that act was wicked and wrong smh. This proves what it says in scripture age is not determined by length of years but by the gray hairs of wisdom upon ones head

    1. The book of Enoch is part of the Apocrypha where Enoch witnessed the Watchers known as fallen angels have sex with women and beget giants as tall as 3,000 els (4500 ft.). That is heresy and contradictory to what Jesus answered the Sadducees that angels do not marry or beget children.

    2. This is all good writing to read; I am undecided if the apocrypha is God’s word.

“In the beginning was the word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.”

However…. The Mormon church will also claim that the Book of Mormon is perfect…

The Book of Mormon and apocrypha are extremely dangerous.

I am not saying that the KJV Bible is some perfect writing… it is not even the original language, however, adding anything to the Bible such as the apocrypha or Book of Mormon or anything worse is extremely dangerous. I have not finished reading either. I have read the Bible.

Only reading the gospels is not good because the history of Israel is important. However, dissimilarly, the apocrypha and Book of Mormon are not yet proven to be perfect… this inevitably asks whether or not the books are spiritual lies devised by satan, or, conversely, if it is possible these are books God reserves only for certain people… that is of course dangerous with the obsession of being “chosen” or “holier” or “special” instead of being humble before God the Creator and also contains the risk of believing writing that is not from God if these aforementioned extra-Bible books are not holy and pure and just.

  9. I'm a Christian - was raised as a Protestant. Jesus is my Savior. But as I grow older, I have questions that the Bible has not been able to answer. When I bring them up, I get the same canned, close-minded response from other Christians: "That's the devil talking to you!" I've had enough of that. It's a closed-minded cop-out response; a one-size-fits-all excuse to avoid a serious answer. I'm an old man now, but when I was young I witnessed things that the Bible has no answer for other than "Its SATAN!" Do you realize there are people parading around as pastors claiming that UFO's are satanic?!? That's loony, folks. I'm a believer in the paranormal because I witnessed it first-hand. The Bible skips over any rational explanation because the answer simply isn't there. Why? Could it be that the answer might be found in the Apocrypha - the books omitted by the Council of Nicea in 325 AD because it didn't fit the narrative? Yes, I have questions and I'm going to research it even if it means climbing out of the comfort zone.
